Wonder | R.j.Palacio

So as you may have seen in my 'Divergent Trilogy' post I told everyone I was reading the book 'Wonder' by R.J.Palacio and I have just recently finished reading Wonder so i decided to do a review on it as I found it a very interesting book.

I found this book very interesting and was hooked and didnt take me very long to read. The chapters are usually a page or two long I think the biggest chapter was four or five. It is also split into several parts where different characters have their insight so in each part it is about a different person.

The book is mainly about;

There is a young boy named August or as his friends and family call him (Auggie) and August was born with a facial disfigurement, so basically his facial features are differently placed then everyone else. August has never been to a school before but his parents suggest he goes to High school as he is at that age but obviously with it being his first school he is nervous and to start with he is disliked and kids make fun of him but he gains friends and although some still dislike him he finds it easier. So it is basically about August's life but there are parts when it is about his friends and family.

This book is soooo good because it is a fictional biography and they are my favourite type of books so if you like books like this then you should definitedly read this. I don't see any reason why anyone would dislike this book as it is amazing. I hope the author creates more books like this because I will definitedly buy them. If fictional Biography is not your thing then you could try it because you never know you might like it after all you shouldnt 'judge a book by it's cover.'

So I suggest you go out and buy Wonder you can get it from Whsmiths, Waterstones, Amazon etc just basically book shops and internet so I hope you get it because you will thank me later.

Also at the minute I am reading the first book in the 'Game of Thrones' series as I love the tv series of Game of Thrones so I received the first two books the first book from my friend who is a fellow lover of Game Of Thrones and my other friend Sophie bought me the second. So this is also a good book but I suggest you watch the tv series first or you will be really really confused.

Divergent Trilogy

So you may already have seen my Divergent book review post that I did a few months ago if u want to look at it u can find it at the right side of the page --->. Now I have finished reading the final book in the trilogy, but I didnt do a review on the 2nd or 3rd book.

Insurgent (Book 2):

So this one is about all the different factions. Tris & the fellow Dauntless are trying to stop Jeanine Matthews & the erudite from casuing danger. Though they are hard to defeat so Tris sends her self into the most dangerous situation of all.

Allegiant (Book 3):

So in Allegiant Tris & Tobias leave the city to find out what lies beyond the city walls as they come in contact with a association called 'Allegiant.'  But Tris finds out some family history whilst she is out of the city. However this story does have a sad disappointing ending which I found really unpredictable so brace yourselves.

However there is one more book called 'Four' & obviously four/Tobias is one of the main characters so I assume that book is about him. Though I haven't read this book and I do not own it either I will definitedly buy it some time soon or I will ask for it for christmas.

And some of you may have already seen it but Divergent has recently been released as a film & is now available to buy on DVD. Sadly I have not seen the film yet but I will probably ask for it for christmas.

So I advise you to go buy all 4 books if you already do not own them & buy the film too. If your and action packed futuristic Hunger Games fan then this is the book for you. I love these books they are amazing & they keep me interested.

I would rate this book series:
**5/5 ***

Also I am reading 'Ordinary' by R.J.Palcio & I have 100 pages left so I will be doing a review on that (also a good book so far)

My Summer

So I go back to school next week  in which I will be in year 10. So I wanted to do a post on what I got up to these past six weeks.

Friends:
So I have met up with some of my friends quite a lot this summer. A few days before we broke up I had a little gathering for my birthday where four of my friends and I went bowling then we all went to Frankie & Benny's which was really really nice. Then the day we broke up from school I had a party as my friend Tia was having a birthday party at her house and all my friends were there and what better to have a party to start the summer off.

So the place I have mostly met my friends this summer is at my local Town Centre and then there is a huge park (Queens Park) straight across from Town Centre. Its just a nice sociable feeling at the park and town. I also went to Meadowhall twice I think which is a huge indoor Shopping Centre in Sheffield which me and my friends usually get the train to as it is only £2.75 there and back and only takes 25mins.

Family:
So on the first Tuesday of the holidays I went to Chester with my Dad, Brother & Sister for two nights and it was really fun and we stayed in a really really nice hotel. Then we went straight to North Wales from Chester and stayed there for two nights, this was also good but I preferred Chester.I also went to Yorkshire Wildlife Park which is basically a Zoo, I love Zoo's so I really really enjoyed that.

Last week I went to Devon to go camping. We tried camping for the first time last year and we loved it so we went last week. I went with my Mum, Stepdad, Brother, Sister, Auntie and cousin. I enjoyed it as we were always out somewhere and was always busy and we had a really big nice tent.

School:
So now I am all ready for school and bought lots of new stuff ready to return to school. I am excited to go back and see what I teachers I have and to see all my school friends.

So this summer I got a few new books so lookout as I will probably be doing review posts on them.

Zoella

My second Youtube post will be on Zoella. She is not my favourite Youtuber (as we all know my favourite is Miranda Sings) but I do still watch some of Zoella's videos occasionally.

Zoe started small just like me with a blog. But now she is a very popular Youtuber with millions of fans and subscribers. One of my Best Friends Sophie (who also does a blog Sophie's Blog) loves Zoella & also quite likes Zoe's brother Joe Sugg.

Girl Online...
Zoe has recently written and published a book called 'Girl Online' & this is how it all happened:
You can buy Girl Online at Amazon just click here

Zoella is very pretty & often does videos on make up she uses or what creams/moisturizers she recommends as well as doing the usual Youtube Challenge videos.
ZALFIE;
Zoe dates fellow Youtuber Alfie Deyes. Their ship name/couple name is 'Zalfie' which is soo cute. Their first years together were just as friends until they then became a thing.
So although Zoe is not my favourite or one of my favourite Youtubers she is still entertaining to watch her so go subscribe to Zoella at ->Zoe's Channel<-

Loom Bands

Loom bands have become so popular recently internationally, so I decided to do a post on them.

They have gripped the nation with there colourful easy to make bracelets. And the fact you get 300 bands in a normal pack for £1.00/99p makes it even better. I only started buying the bands & making the bracelets two weeks ago but I have made altogether 4 bracelets of different designs/patterns. They are great for when you want something to do, you can do them whilst watching tv or just anywhere really. It is just fun to do whenever you want.

It was my birthday on Wednesday & my sister bought me a box with 18 compartments to put all my loom bands in. But I will probably haved to get another box as there are just too many different colours/pattern bands. There are lots of different bracelet/necklace/ring/bracelet charm designs to produce & you can have a look on google & youtube at tutorials to make the designs. I find this website useful for finding different designs to produce: http://loomlove.com/

Here a few designs:

So I would suggest you get some bands & start creating. Dont be one of those people who wants to try it but your friends think its lame as you may convince them to start so get some, its something to do in your free time.

Review | Divergent

I just recently finished reading the book 'Divergent' so I have decided to do this post on my review.

Divergent was first only a book as it is in a three book series written by Veronica Roth. Divergent is the first book in the series then second is 'Insurgent' which I own and have just started reading then third and lastly 'Allegiant' which I do not own but will be buying as soon as I can. However you may know that recently Divergent has been made into a film and has been very popular in cinemas.

From reading the book I get the idea that it is a bit like the hunger games as it includes decisions where some will benefit and others not at all .

So a basic summary of the story is...

The Choosing Ceremony is near & its all Tris can think about.
(So basically the city is made up of four different sections: 'Abnegation', 'Erudite', 'Amity'. 'Dauntless'. So everyone is born into one of these sections & grows up in that area & lives by the rules that are expected in that area. But when a child reaches a certain age they haved to take an aptitude test which determines which area you belong in as after the test there is a choosing ceremony where you choose to leave that area you grew up in forever and live in a different area or stay with the family you grew up with in the area you were from. But once you pick your area there is an intiation process where the top 10 initiates become part of that area till they die but the rest become 'factionless' - homeless.)
So when Tris' aptitude test results come back as DIVERGENT she knows she is in danger.

Shailene Woodley as
Tris.
This is a really good book and probably an even better film especially if your into the hunger games. It has 'The Fault In Our Stars' characters Shailene Woodley
(Hazel) and Ansel Elgort (Augustus) in the film which makes it even better. Its also very futuristic so if you like sci-fi then its a good book for you to.

Ansel Elgrot as
Caleb.
It contains some romance & some heartbreak, some sadness & will make you want to read on & on. What makes it even better is it is written in three different books. I am so glad I bought it.

Therefore I recommend you get Divergent ASAP then of course you will obviously haved to get Insurgent then Allegiant & you will thank me for telling you.

Review | Game Of Thrones

Game Of Thrones is a tv programme set in the past at the time of rivalry for the king and queen spot & jousting & drunken combats.

It has been aired for four series now & has just finished its last episode of series four on Monday. Although it may only have around ten episodes in each series it still seems to entertain for an hour every Monday. It is set up in the time of kings and queens that live in castles watching jousts & peoples heads being chopped off along with battling combats, but every king and queen wonders if they are ever really safe? As although they may rule over Westeros there is always someone planning a way to kill the ones in command.

Cersei and Robert Baratheon.
But Who Ruled And When?

  • SERIES 1 - Cersei and Robert Baratheon ruled over Westeros.
  • SERIES 2 - Cersei & Robert's son & heir to the throne Joffrey Baratheon rules over Westeros (but Joffrey is actually Cersei and her brother Jaime Lannister's son but nobody knows)
  • SERIES 3 - Joffrey Baratheon still rules over Westeros.
  • SERIES 4 - Joffrey's younger brother & Cersei & Jaime's other son Tommen Baratheon becomes king as Joffrey is murdered and he is the heir to the throne.

Tommen Barath
Joffrey Baratheon.
Jaime Lannister
Important Characters And How They Are Related:

My Favourite Character | Daenarys Targaryen

Daenarys Targaryen to me & most mentally is the rightful Queen and should rule over Westeros. She is the only surviving child of the past king Aerys II Targaryen, who was ousted from the Iron Throne (Being king) during Robert Baratheon's rebellion. Making Daenarys the rightful heir to the throne. She is know as Daenarys Targaryen but is also called:

  • Daenarys Stormborn
  • Dany
  • The Unburnt
  • Mhysa
  • The Queen Across The Sea
  • The Silver Queen
  • Khaleesi (Queen of Targaryens)
  • Mother Of Dragons (Owns three dragons)

She is played by Emilia Clarke who is just as beautiful as Daenarys herself. Her overall look is a light blue/grey underskirt/dress & then a blue jacket which is like a dress with legs on show & her beautiful lovely blonde golden hair. She is my favourite as she is so powerful & gorgeous & just amazing I mean she owns three dragons that she can control however she wants. she has been building up an army from the start of series 1 so she can eventually invade Kings Landing (where the king and queen live & the Iron Throne) she has visited many cities & has freed all the slaves so they can join her army so she can take the throne. But I dont really know when a bout she will finally attack I think she is waiting for right time and when she has ebough army.

The Starks :-
The Stark family has been the most affected family in the show & has been through a lot. It started series one with:
  1. Ned Stark - Father
  2. Catelyn Stark - Mother
  3. Robb Stark - 1st son and 1st child
  4. Sansa Stark - 1st daughter and 2nd child
  5. Arya Stark - 2nd daughter and 3rd child
  6. Brandon Stark - 2nd son and 4th child
Ned stark & Robert Baratheon were best friends since they were young boys & when the Baratheons visit Winterfell (Home of the Starks) Robert asks Ned to be his 'King's Hand'. But joining their stay at Winterfell Brandon climbs one of the towers to find Cersei and Jaime having sex but Jaime sees Brandon & grabs him and throws him out the window where he falls & breaks his legs to discover he will never walk again. But in order for Ned to be the King's Hand he has to move to Kingslanding where he takes Sansa and Arya leaving Catelyn and Robb to look after Winterfell and Brandon. But Cersei dislikes the Starks especially Ned. So when Ned decides he doesnt want to be the Kings Hand anymore when he discovers he is told to kill and innocent young baby he is ready to leave but Robert convinces him to stay. But when Robert goes out hunting and returns dead. This means Cersei's son Joffrey will become king & she puts in his head that Ned is a traitor as he is the only one who knows about Cersie and Jaime & tells Joffrey he is not the heir to the throne & locks him up. However Sansa and Joffrey had fallen deeply in love and Joffrey promised Sansa she would be his queen and have his children. So when it is time for Ned's trial because Joffrey has control he decides uncontrollably to cut Ned's head off in front of all of Kingslanding's citizens and Sansa and Arya even though everyone was trying to stop him even Cersei. But luckily after Arya got away and escaped from Kingslanding but Sansa was trapped and was forced to stay at Kingslanding where she was tormented by Joffrey. Word hits Winterfell that Ned is dead so Robb decides to start marching his troops to Kingslanding with his mum but Brandon gets taken to safety. But on Robb's way he hased to cross a bridge but in order to cross he hased to make a deal with the man who lived at the bridge 'Robb must marry one of his daughters in the future to enable him to cross' Robb accepts and he is let through however he ends up finding love with the nurse he has taken with him to help the injured troops and they get married and she becomes pregnant. So when they return to the bridge the man is not happy but Robb thinks he has made a deal by making one of his men marry his daughter. So later at the wedding dinner the man brings in some men and they stab Robb's wife's stomach with the baby inside then stabs Robb then another shoots Catelyn. So all that is left is Sansa, Arya and Brandon. And at the end of series four I can happily say they all are still alive but have not found each other yet.

I love this programme as its just so good and so well thought out. And just amazes me every episode I just love it. However the first two series do include sex scenes but they do not last long but it is really really good so I recommend you try and find a way to watch series 1,2,3 and 4 before next year when series 5 comes out.
